#MEAction is excited to announce our Severe ME Artists Project — Gallery! The Severe ME Artists Project features work from those within the severe ME community and is in recognition of Severe ME Day on August 8th.

We had a wonderful response to this project with over 180 submissions! We are blown away by the response – thank you!

This project was created with an idea to allow those with severe ME to share their artwork with the larger community and provide an opportunity to be SEEN!

We also want to acknowledge the grief that happens for those unable to practice their art due to illness and those who have had to change the way they practice their art.

On this page, you will find the Writers Gallery, a link to the video compilation, and the many art images submitted. There is a lot on this page, so please take your time and come back often!

*Severe ME Day on August 8th was started by the 25% group. We are grateful for their work and very eager to support artists in the severe ME community.

Here is the video compilation featuring all of the wonderful art submitted by our severe ME community!

This video is over ## minutes long. While it does not have music, there is sound in certain sections, in case you need to mute. Feel free to pause and come back to watch the rest of the video when able. We will be releasing shorter videos throughout the weekend, as well.

Due to the large number of submissions and the amount of images, we were only able to feature one piece of work per artist. To view the rest of the works submitted, scroll to the Art Gallery below!

  1. These are simply amazing artists! Thank you for sponsoring this. It’s good to know I’m not alone in this ME struggle. Thank you again and much love to all the talented ME artists!!!

    1. I have hand typed poetry and a book for sale at @james_strazza on Instagram. Im sure if you reached out to an artist they’d be happy to sell a piece.

  2. Absolutely honoured to have my artwork featured here. Wish I had submitted more than 1 now though!! The songs, the poems, the art are all just so amazing. I love how through our pain comes beauty in the form of art!! (therainbowbutterfly)

  3. Accessibility Request:
Could the three separate areas (written, video, gallery) be hyperlinked in the top paragraphs please? It’s an awful lot of scrolling and therefore both sensory & information overload the way it is currently (android mobile).

Furthermore, any new audiences (eg during Severe ME Awareness Day) may not hang around long enough to find what they were signposted to/expecting.

    Thank you in hopefulness.

  4. These artworks are incredible….what amazing and inspirational artists, because that is what you all are. I pray for total healing for every one of you in the Name of Jesus. God bless you and keep you. 😊🌼💛🏵🧡🌺💜 beautiful music too. My daughter has been unwell for 30 years this month so thank you for being there for her.

  5. Wow! A fantastic gallery of art. Much love and respect to all the artists and Severe M.E. community everywhere x
