Ways to Get Involved
These are volunteer areas where we need the most support. Take a look at the descriptions below and fill out the volunteer form. Don’t worry. We will get you the proper training and connect you to the right people. Thank you for your interest in joining us.
Canary Corps is a peer-to-peer group that supports people with ME and Long COVID so that they can access care and resources they need. Please take a look at this separate application.
We have many Facebook groups in our community, and volunteer Facebook Moderators will be assigned to a group to moderate. This includes ensuring the group stays active, people are kind to one another, and no misinformation is shared. Facebook moderators will work closely with our Volunteer and Activist Coordinator, Shalida Dobbins, to ensure everything runs smoothly. Each volunteer must do a short training before actively doing any moderating.
Our Fundraising volunteers will work with our Executive Director, Laurie Jones, to help our organization receive funding to keep our work of supporting and educating those on ME/CFS. This role consists of brainstorming ideas for fundraisers and researching what has worked well and what can be done in the future.
Podcast volunteers will work closely with Steven Molony, our Video and Communications Manager, to help contact potential guests to be on the podcast. The volunteers will also schedule when the interviews will take place. Someone will also need to reach out to possible sponsors for the podcast so we’re looking for a volunteer with experience in that area.
The press volunteers will work closely with our Public Relations manager, Adriane Tillman, to contact publications, help edit press releases, and research where ME/CFS is being discussed in the media.
Come up with new petitions/letters/actions for issues that affect the ME and broader disability community. This group is led by Shalida Dobbins and a volunteer leader.
