#MEAction Advocates will Speak at Stanford MEDx Conference this Weekend

#MEAction advocate, Terri Wilder, and #MEAction board member, Ryan Prior, are co-presenting at the Stanford MEDx conference this weekend about how #MEAction empowers the myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) community through technology.

Terri and Ryan will discuss the history of #MEAction, its founders, its reason for being, its social justice philosophy, its policy goals, the PACE trial, and the technology it uses to help people fight for change from their beds.

Watch their presentation about #MEAction via livestream this Sunday, Sept. 22 at 2:30 p.m. PT.*

Ryan Prior will also present on the power of the narrative of illness, touching on his work writing about ME as a journalist for CNN, and the ME documentary he produced, Forgotten Plague. He will also participate on a panel about data sharing in rare diseases. Watch his presentation on Saturday, Sept. 21st at 1:45 p.m. PT.

Terri Wilder will also speak about how her personal experience working on the front lines of the AIDS movement saved her life, and helped her fight for the right kind of care when she got sick with ME. Watch her presentation on Saturday, Sept. 21st at 9:35 a.m. PT.

Stanford University hosts its annual Medicine X conference every September to bring together community stakeholders, innovators and leaders in health care. This year’s Medicine X | Change conference is focused on the innovators who are disrupting health care throughout the globe.

*With a complex schedule of main stage, breakout sessions, and subsessions, we are not quite sure what you can catch on livestream but all the sessions look interesting. We provided the times of Ryan and Terri’s presentations just in case!
