Meet the #MEAction Staff: Laurie Jones

Meet the #MEAction Staff!

Over the next couple of weeks, the staff at #MEAction will be sharing their experiences and insights into what they do and what brings them to this work. I am so thankful for this opportunity for you all to get to know this amazing group of people. They are so ready to support you and our effort for ME health equality for all people.

I am so honored to be a part of the staff at #MEAction. I came to #MEAction via Unrest because I love stories that inspire change. Health inequality was something I was very familiar with in my own life and when I saw Unrest, I was more motivated than ever to advocate with people who have not had equal access, opportunity, or support. Since the impact campaign wrapped up, I was very grateful to get to stay on with #MEAction.

I love this community. Before Unrest I did not know about ME. And now that I know, I promise I will never stop fighting.

My job is to help the team work to the best of their ability. I do that in big and small ways, whether that is helping to develop strategy or writing a tweet. This team is so smart, capable, and passionate. I try to do what I can do support them- and then get out of their way!

I believe in the mission of #MEAction, and I ask you to believe in it too.

#MillionsMissing 2023: Scotland calls for healthcare education

This year, #MEAction Scotland’s #MillionsMissing campaign focussed on raising awareness of the reality of living with ME and called for education and training for healthcare professionals to improve support for people with ME across Scotland. Ahead of ME Awareness week, we put out a call, alongside #MEAction UK, to ask members of the ME community
