Amazing Look@ME fundraiser in the UK!

On 3rd, February 2019, Look@ME held a supper quiz in North London to raise awareness for myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME). Look@ME is a committee of family and friends coming together to raise awareness for ME.

Over 200 people attended this special dinner and quiz night which was inspired by festive quizzes held at the family of our dear friend, Daniella, over the past 20 years. Daniella’s parents and friends spent months crafting a brilliant quiz which ran over 10 rounds and were lucky to be joined by Nigel Mead as a professional host. On top of the Quiz, Nigel performed some magic and there were two raffle drawers with amazing prizes.

In total, over £10,000 were raised and the committee have decided to donate this money to #MEAction UK to continue supporting their advocacy work in encouraging governments to fund biomedical research and awareness raising campaigns. After months of planning the event, Look@ME felt both encouraged and motivated to see so many friends, families and new faces in attendance. We were deeply touched by the amount we raised and to see over 200 people learn more about this invisible illness affecting so many people, including friends and family so close to us.

#MEAction is incredibly grateful to Look@ME and their committee and team! If you want to create your own fundraiser for #MEAction UK, get in touch with [email protected] or if you want to donate to keep growing our UK work, simply click here.

  1. What an ingenious idea! Great job, Look@ME! I love it!! You had such a great turn out! Who was the audience comprised of? How did you get so many to turn out for the event?

  2. Thanks Terry
It was a good few months of planning and the quiz was organised by a big group of us, so we reached out far and wide! Mainly family, friends and people who love a Quiz! We hope to do it again in the future…
