mEAction Presents: writing from our me lives
December 10 @ 11:00 am – 12:30 pm PST
A People with ME writing group is beginning! Come, Try it out!!
#MEAction is excited to partner with longtime ME advocate and mother of a pwME, Bobbi Ausubel, to host a brand new writing group for people with ME, Writing From Our ME Lives.
This group is for people with ME who are interested in writing stories, tales, poems, essays, songs, and diaries. The writing can be fiction, non-fiction, and even whimsical.
The group will be offered every week on Thursdays from 11am PST/2pm EST* and will be about an hour and a half. Members of the group will be able to drop in or out throughout the time and attend when they are able. Members will not need to attend every week, but we want to provide an option to connect once a week if possible.
Here is the BlueJeans link for the virtual class: https://bluejeans.com/520146018
Our virtual group class will take place over BlueJeans. If you have not used BlueJean’s before, you can use this link to test your video and audio before the call. Additionally, here is the link for BlueJeans support.
Members will be able to write during the sessions and/or outside the session time. Writing prompts or themes will be provided but members are able to write whatever comes to them. Members will write and then share their writing with the group, if they feel comfortable. Bobbi will introduce the means to explore story-writing processes and provide feedback (positive and non-judgmental), if requested. Nobody is after perfection in writing and the discussion can be fun. Focus on inner life is also encouraged, especially when outer life is restricted.
Each writing group member, in order to participate, agrees that confidentiality is a vital, protective component.
All are welcome and we encourage others to invite those interested to attend. Please contact Bobbi for more information at [email protected].
*If meeting on Saturday is a better fit for individuals, please let us know and we can open to changing the day.
