Preparing for Your Medicaid Home Assessment

A home assessment is part of the Medicaid eligibility process for in-home help, sometimes called Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS), long-term services and supports (LTSS), or waiver services. In most states, a case manager visits your home, asks about your daily activities, and uses your answers to decide if you qualify and how much support you can get.
We’ve created a toolkit to help folks navigate the home assessment process. Of course we are still fighting for Medicaid and programs that help our community. While we do that, you should know how to access those programs and services.
