Join Our Caregivers Discussions for November

November is National Family Caregivers Month! MEAction is honored to partner with Kim Moy and Denise Lopez-Majano to bring you two powerful new webinars/discussions, as well as helpful content all throughout the month!
Denise Lopez-Majano and Kim Moy are long-time caregivers for person/persons in their life with ME as well as volunteers with MEAction. They have been leading our caregiver support calls for many years. We are beyond thankful to have the time, effort and influence of these two amazing souls in our community.
Things We Caregivers Wish We Had Known
First, we will have a roundtable discussion among some long-time caregivers, led by Denise Lopez-Majano, on November 1st at 12 pm PT | 3 pm ET | 8 pm GMT.
We will discuss what we would most like to have known or realized earlier in our caregiving journeys. We will share ideas, insights, strategies, and resources, and fully acknowledge the idiosyncratic nature of each person's situation. If you have questions for us, please share them during the webinar or send them to caregiver@meaction.net by October 31.
Being on the Same Team: Strengthening Relationships Through Chronic Illness
Next, please join us for a fireside chat conversation with caregiving coach Kim Moy and MEAction’s Community Engagement Manager (and person with ME) Holly Latham on November 15th at 12 pm PT | 3 pm ET | 8 p.m. GMT.
We invite people living with debilitating chronic illness and their family caregivers to explore how to stay on the same team, communicate with greater understanding, and intentionally nurture the relationship beneath the caregiving dynamic. This online event is for both people living with ME/CFS, Long COVID and related illnesses, and the people who care for them.

MEAction is also partnering with Kim Moy of Caregiver Wisdom on social media this November to share wisdom from her well of lived experience as a family caregiver for 20+ years and professional training as a board-certified health and wellness coach. Watch for weekly posts focused on caregiving!
Our fellow national organizations - Bateman Horne Center, Open Medicine Foundation, and Solve ME - are kindly joining in this focus on caregiving for the month, using the #UnitedForME hashtag so we can elevate and share one another’s resources.
Our support for caregivers continues all year long. We have our Partner Caregivers Call (all caregivers welcome) on the first Sunday of every month at 3 pm ET. Our Caregivers Call is on the third Saturday of every month at 1:30 pm ET. We also have a Facebook group for ME Caregivers, which over 1,500 people around the world have joined to connect and support each other.
A personal note from MEAction’s Community Engagement Manager, Holly Latham:
I would like to end by saying a very personal thank you to the caregivers in our community. What you do is invaluable and it takes a toll. We are forever grateful to the caregivers who have stepped in to help build a strong support network for all of our caregivers.
For those who live with ME and are also caregivers, we know you face some unique challenges. The wisdom you bring to your situations is powerful. We wish we could sit you all down with a cup of tea and a blanket and just let you know we care.
And to those in our community struggling without a caregiver in their life, we see you. We know it makes every aspect of your illness harder and we will keep fighting for the disability supports we all deserve.
