#MEAction UK interim update on JNNP complaint.

#MEAction UK has now received a reply to our complaint about the removal of our rapid response from the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry (JNNP).

‘Thank you for your email. I can confirm that your complaint has been received and is currently under review by the Content Integrity team at BMJ. We will endeavour to respond to you in full as soon as possible.’

In order to understand who/what might have been behind the re-evaluation and removal of our rapid response to the article published in July’s JNNP criticising the process used by NICE to review evidence for the guideline on ME/CFS, the three authors of the response have submitted a subject access request to the JNNP.

The JNNP have acknowledged our request and replied:

‘Meanwhile, your email of 8th August making a subject access request for any personal information held by BMJ is being considered by our Data Protection Compliance Manager, who will revert to you directly on this.’

We are considering what further actions are available to us and will post further updates as they arise.
