NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION DAY- SEPTEMBER 22, 2020

Today is National Voter Registration Day! #MEAction along with many other organizations are sharing with their communities the importance of registering to vote for November’s general election. Plus, we want to share some helpful resources to make registering and voting easier.

Here are some important stats to remember when it comes to registering to vote:
1 in 4 Americans are not registered to vote
In 2020, 35 million with disabilities are eligible to vote

You will need to update your voter registration:
* If you have moved within the past year
* Have changed your named in the past year

Also, in some states you can be removed from the voting rolls if you didn’t vote in previous elections, if you were deemed an inactive voter.

That is why we highly recommend checking to make sure not only are you registered to vote but that your voter registration is current and up-to-date!

For information about your state’s voter registration deadlines, check out this site.

Vote By Mail & Early Voting
Voting by mail and voting early has become very popular in the past few years and with the pandemic many more states have changed or implemented vote-by-mail and early vote options, to make voting easier and safer during this time.

Thinking about voting by mail but aren’t sure if it’s right for you? That’s okay, we can help!

Voting by mail may be right for you if…
* You are concerned about your health and the health of others
* You do not require in-person assistance
* You are more comfortable reviewing and researching your ballot from home
* You will not be at your home address on Election Day
* You have an address where you are able to receive mail

Learn more about your state’s options for voting by mail.

Here is a calendar of the states that offer early voting (voting prior to election day).
