Call for Artists: Postcards to Doctors

CALL FOR ARTISTS

We’re excited to announce that we are taking submissions for our second annual Postcards to Doctors initiative! Read how to submit below.

Postcards to Doctors works a lot like Postcards to Voters, which sends handwritten postcards to individuals to encourage them to vote. Postcards to Doctors uses the same model to encourage clinicians to take a CME course about ME. Currently, this program is only available for US clinicians, but artists can be from anywhere!

Read all about last year’s success here!

We’re again looking for artists in the ME and chronic illness community to submit postcard designs for this outreach campaign. Your voice and style will make them meaningful. Your art is the first impression the clinician will have, even before reading the card itself. What would you like to say?

You may submit up to four designs. If your design was selected last year, you can participate again this year, but you cannot submit a piece that won in previous years. Winning artists will receive credit and a small stipend of $50.

What are we looking for? Something compelling and colorful, that will grab attention and spark curiosity. We’re hoping for a mix of portrait, abstract, photography, and other media. Take a look at last year’s winners for ideas.

Want to help send postcards? We’ll let you know when the second round is available! Now is the time to get more doctors interested in treating people with ME.

JUDGING:
The selection committee will be one representative from #MEAction, one artist with ME, and a volunteer.

DEADLINE:
October 5th

SPECS:
Files must be high-resolution, sized to 3.5 x 5 inches. Limit of four entries.

Submissions are closed as of 10/5. Thank you for submitting your art!
