Call for Artists! Sending postcards to doctors!

PLEASE NOTE: The Unrest CME has now expired.

If you have postcards remaining, please direct your providers to this CME instead!

CALL FOR ARTISTS We’re taking art submissions for our upcoming Postcards to Doctors initiative! Postcards to Doctors will work a lot like Postcards to Voters. The Postcards to Voters campaign leveraged handwritten postcards to individuals in order to encourage them to vote.  Postcards to Doctors will use the same model in order to encourage clinicians to take the Unrest medical education course and attend in-person medical education events.   Studies show that handwritten notes and letters have a far greater impact than emails or printed documents. In medicine, this personalization is more important than ever, showing that we are more than just a set of symptoms — and standing out from the dozens of emails clinicians receive about CME every year.  Like the Postcards to Voters program and other letter-writing campaigns, this grassroots effort makes personal the patient-doctor relationship in order to cut through gatekeeping and miscommunication. In order to ensure that all the most important information is included, #MEAction staff will create a few short sentences that we will ask advocates to replicate as closely as possible.  It will be okay to paraphrase, so long as it still includes the same basic facts.  What we ask advocates to include will be short, so the rest of the message will be up to them. Community members will be able to order beautifully-designed postcards and send to doctors in their local areas, encouraging them to take the Unrest CME. Calling all artists – help us design the postcards! We are looking for artists in the community to design a selection of postcards for this outreach campaign! We need your voice and style to make these postcards meaningful!  It’s important that the artwork we receive be compelling and colorful and arouse curiosity!  Your art is the first ‘voice’ the clinician will hear, even before he or she reads the postcard’s content. What would you like to say? Artists selected will receive a small stipend of $50 for their work. We ask that your art be uploaded in a high quality format and that it measures  3.5 x 5 inches, or that it can be reduced to that size without losing important details within your design. You may submit as many entries as you please. Please send your submissions to [email protected] and make the subject “POSTCARD ART SUBMISSION” by July 1st. Email [email protected] with any inquiries. Thank you so much for all you do to make the world a little brighter for people with ME!
