The phrase “think global, act local” was originally  used in the context of environmental activism. The idea was that you couldn’t wait for global legislation or global action to change something so the best course of action was to drive change yourself locally. “Think global, act local” has now taken on a much wider meaning and use. It urges people to consider action on a variety of issues in their own communities. The ME community can greatly benefit by adopting a local philosophy to activism.  ME activists live in communities and can facilitate change at the local level.
Please join ME activists from around the globe on Saturday, July 8th at 1:00 pm EST for our next activist teach in.  Activists will share examples of successful local level strategies. Following short presentations, participants will have the opportunity to engage in lively discussion and share best practices.
Confirmed speakers:

  • Terri L. Wilder, New York (USA)
  • Elisabeth Røyseth, Tjøme (Norway)

Check back as we add more speakers.
New and seasoned activists are highly encouraged to attend; those just wanting to learn more are also very welcome. We must continue to build our activist toolbox. Remember, we are mighty when we raise our voices together. Please join us and invite others!
